Encased is a Vancouver-based shop focused on the trading-card hobby — Pokémon TCG, Magic: The Gathering, and other major card games. We're collectors first and sellers second.
Why Encased?
The hobby has fakes. It has sellers who skip the loupe, ship cards in flimsy mailers, and undersell condition just to move inventory. We started this shop because we wanted a place that did things the way we'd want them done as buyers — every card hand-checked, every slab verified, every package over-prepared.
What we stand for
- Authenticity above all. Every raw single inspected under a loupe and a black light. Every graded slab verified by cert lookup. Every sealed product sourced traceably.
- Pack like the cards matter. Penny sleeve, toploader, rigid card backing — every order, no exceptions. We'd rather over-pack than risk damage.
- Describe accurately. We'd rather lose a sale than ship a card with a defect we didn't disclose.
The collector behind the shop
I've been collecting since I was a kid. The cards I personally chase are the rare ones and the ones with art that genuinely stops you — those moments where a card stops being just cardboard with rules text and becomes a piece you want to actually look at. That instinct shapes what we stock and how we curate. If a card doesn't have something special about it — the pull rate, the artist, the era, the history — it's probably not on our shelves.
